I bought this with some concern as to how close I could hang it to the ceiling. I have standard 8 foot ceilings, and from the product description I could not determine for sure if it would work. We made it work. The 4 lines that adjust the distance between the ceiling to the lowest part are relatively easy to adjust. The crystals that hang down are not. But for my wife's ingenuity, we would have had to cut the crystal lines with only 1 crystal showing per line. However, my wife re-strung the crystals using fishing line and a hot glue gun, and the fixture looks just like the one in the picture while hanging in our 8 foot tall room.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
